MMA Tycoon Tips & Hints

Stand-Up

As many other managers in the game now, I've turned into a bit of a stand-up guy. As many people have noticed, referee stand-ups are a little to frequent and gives the advantage to the stand-up fighter. Saying this, more and more people have adjusted and made their fighters and projects stand-up fighters. If anyone wants to be successful they have to have some knowledge of sliders. Sliders are (in my opinion) the most important aspect of MMA Tycoon as if you ain't got the slider knowledge......you ain't shit. I'm not the best manager in the game, far from it but I believe I've had enough fights and advice to give any new guys out there a lesson.

(Don't take my opinion as fact....take it however you want)

Countering: In my opinion, countering is superior to aggression but is very dangerous. Countering helps you counter takedown/punch/kick better I believe but is very dangerous in the sense that your opponent is getting the first punch on you and if they connect....it may be all over.

Aggressive: NEVER go over 80 aggression.....you will probably gas early or easily get taken down. It may work from time to time but way to risky for myself.

Ground

As referee stand-ups have went a little out of control, this means means you have to be more aggressive on top. Along with that comes with the risk of being subbed if you're facing a brown belt, black belt...and maybe even a purple belt. As I don't want to give away too much, 65-85 aggression seems to work fine without getting subbed. You can work the rest out yourself.

Fifa 11 Improvements & Additions

Since Fifa 11 has came out...I have been very impressed with a few things in the game so far. One change which comes to mind is how they have slowed down the tempo of the passing. This is a very good improvement as sometimes it's an actual struggle to get in or around your opponent's penalty box unlike older Fifa/Euro games where you could just get into the box willy-nilly without caution.

A few updates that some people may not of picked up like headers. As of now, Headers are a lot better as you can direct your header a lot better & control it more effectively. Another one being that chipping the ball over the keeper is a lot more difficult to control and ultimately score.

Moving onto the Main-Event being the addition of the 'Goalkeeper Mode'. Firstly, movement is critical to a keeper, with the prediction of shot placements among one of the key skills in effectively saving opportunities. This is done by using the left stick, much like normal movement but is seen from a behind-the-net view while lacking the turning speed of an outfield player. As the game is relatively new I haven't really experienced 'Goalkeeper Mode' that much but I did start a Be A Pro file with Kasper Schmeichal at Leeds United. Playing a few games I noticed how little I was doing and ended up hoping the other team came forward made me actually do something. I have found myself browsing the web whilst my teamates play on...hurry to get back to my controller and burst out into tears when the ball in cleared.

As this is my first entry...I'll leave you with some screenshots so I don't bore you too much.

Hope you enjoyed it...I will be adding more blogs about such things such as MMA Tycoon tips or hints, & a look at Football Manager 2011.
